Investment Management– The choices for investments today seem endless and create confusion and anxiety among investors. 
Investment Management
Because markets can be volatile and unpredictable many clients are unsure about where to invest their capital.  We try to overcome these concerns with each new client relationship by understanding your goals, timeframes and tolerance for risk. Only after these parameters have been established do we begin developing  a target asset allocation model with an investment portfolio specifically designed for you.  We offer access to  traditional investment products including mutual funds, separate accounts, government bonds, corporate bonds, annuities, CD's, etc.  Alternative investments including real estate investment trusts, private equity, and managed futures are also available.
Retirement Planning
Retirement Planning – Depending on the stage in ones life it’s critical to understand how your retirement assets and various sources of income will affect your desired standard of living in retirement.  Based on your current and anticipated investment resources we prepare detailed hypothetical projections to illustrate how long your capital may last or how large it may grow.  This process usually identifies planning opportunities that can be acted upon now and the typical result is increased peace of mind for our clients.
Estate Plan Coordination – Due to constant changes to the estate tax structure many clients are unsure if their existing wills or trusts will meet their original objectives for the efficient transfer of assets to their heirs.  We will review your current documents and work closely with your attorney to coordinate any changes or updates that might be necessary.  Keeping up with estate tax laws as they change is extremely important to our clients financial plans and this becomes part of our annual review process.
Tax Planning – Our clients understand that the bottom line to investing is not what you earn, but what you keep after taxes.  We develop working relationships with your accountant on all tax matters for potential savings opportunities.    Tracking cost basis on your investments, as well as managing capital gains and losses for tax efficiency, are critical to your after-tax returns.
Education Planning
Education Planning – With the rising cost of tuition, clients want to know the current amount of savings necessary to fund a child’s future education.  We provide detailed cost projections for the school or university of your choice and help implement your plan with the appropriate investment vehicle for this goal.  We also monitor changes in legislation to determine the appropriate funding alternative including 529 college savings accounts, Coverdell education savings plans (education IRA’s), custodial accounts, etc.  Each type of account has it’s own unique advantages and disadvantages.
Risk Management (Insurance) – The process of planning for a family’s protection needs in the event of an untimely death can be both emotional and complex.  After we have a thorough understanding of your complete financial picture we can review and explain existing policies and the value of how they fit into your current financial plan.  Our objective is to make sure you have appropriate levels of coverage offered by financially strong companies with affordable premiums.   We only work with top rated insurance carriers and will make sure you have the right policy for your situation.  This same process applies to protection needs for disability and long term care insurance.
Business Retirement Plans
Business Retirement Plans – We assist small to medium sized businesses in the design and implementation of employee benefit programs.  Based on the size of the company and long-term objectives, we can recommend appropriate plan designs, coordinate administrative functions with local third party administrators, and provide investment management.  Plan designs include 401(k), profit sharing,  SEP IRAs,  Simple IRAs, deferred compensation plans, etc.
Communication – A critical component of a solid long-term relationship is effective communication.  We meet with clients on a face-to-face basis as often as they prefer and are available via e-mail or by phone in the interim.  Our clients receive monthly statements from our broker/dealer and periodically receive consolidated performance reporting from our in-house portfolio management software.  Clients can also request to monitor their accounts via the internet, suspend paper statements in favor of electronic statements, and download data directly into Quicken.  We send out an e-mail each Monday to keep clients abreast of the market and economy.
